A wearable biosensor that detects neurochemical changes before a seizure occurs — giving patients precious minutes of advance warning to find safety, alert loved ones, and prepare.
Visualizations are conceptual and for demonstration purposes only. Actual product UI may differ.
A thin, discreet biosensor patch adheres to your skin — similar to a continuous glucose monitor. No wires, no bulk, just continuous monitoring.
The device tracks neurochemical signals in real time — detecting patterns that precede seizure activity minutes before symptoms appear.
When a seizure is predicted, you and your emergency contacts receive an instant alert — giving you critical time to respond safely.
An array of painless microneedles (250–400 µm depth) accesses interstitial fluid beneath the skin — where neurochemicals like glutamate and cortisol can be measured.
Glutamate oxidase enzymes, immobilized on gold electrodes, generate measurable electrochemical signals when they interact with target biomarkers.
A low-power potentiostat IC applies a precise bias voltage and measures the resulting nanoamp-level current — converting biochemistry into digital data in real time.
Raw sensor data is transmitted to our app and processed in the cloud — where pattern recognition models analyze neurochemical trends and trigger alerts in real time.
Nordic nRF54-series Bluetooth delivers the alert to the user's phone with minimal latency. In emergency scenarios, speed of transmission is non-negotiable.
Sensitive neurochemical data stays encrypted end-to-end. Emergency alerts are sent only to contacts the user explicitly designates — nothing more.
"We believe no one should face a seizure alone or without warning. Neuravon exists to give every patient and their family the one thing they deserve — time."
We're currently in the research and development phase, working on prototyping the biosensor technology and validating our approach. Medical devices require extensive testing and regulatory approval before they can reach patients. We'll share updates as we progress through these stages.
Seizure prediction is an emerging field, and we're working to establish reliable accuracy benchmarks through clinical research. Our goal is to achieve a prediction window of 3-7 minutes before seizure onset with minimal false positives. Early research in neurochemical monitoring shows promise, but we're committed to rigorous validation.
No. The microneedles used in Neuravon are designed to be painless — similar to existing continuous glucose monitors. They penetrate only 250-400 micrometers into the skin, which is shallow enough to avoid nerve endings while still accessing interstitial fluid.
Our initial focus is on generalized tonic-clonic seizures and focal seizures with neurochemical precursors. Not all seizure types have detectable pre-ictal biomarkers, so Neuravon may not work for every patient. We're researching the specific seizure phenotypes where our approach will be most effective.
Privacy is foundational to our design. All neurochemical data is encrypted end-to-end in transit and processed securely in the cloud. We never share or sell your health information. Emergency alerts contain only the information you choose to share with your designated contacts.
Neuravon is designed for people with epilepsy who experience unpredictable seizures despite medication — especially those at risk of injury from falls or accidents. We're also building this for their families and caregivers who want peace of mind knowing their loved ones will have advance warning.
We're in early development — working through the hardware, the chemistry, and the engineering challenges. Whether you're a patient, researcher, or potential partner, we'd love to hear from you.
